Year of the Snake – Come make a lantern and eco-arts sculpture for Winter Solstice and Lunar New Year

September 20, 2012 by CACV Admin

h4>>We'll make a lantern head from lunaria (silver dollar plant, honesty or money plant). This is the time of year to harvest these, and we'll need lots. Please save them for us. If you're not sure what this plant is, read up on it here. Jacquie Rolston is the artist who will be coordinating the lantern project. Groups will be invited to make part of the snake's body from ivy or other invasive …

Tweet for Community Art

September 12, 2012 by CACV Admin

h4>>Come to the UBC Learning Exchange and participate in  a network of people using social media to promote community arts in Vancouver. FREE - MUST PREREGISTER. I've begun to think of social media as a form of democracy. Every time I retweet, like or share - it's a little bit like casting a ballot. For those who proclaim retweets do *not* constitute an endorsement, perhaps I should say, I'm …

August 24, 2012 by CACV Admin

h4>>On August 22nd, the Community Arts Council of Vancouver hosted its first public presentation and consultation on making art from beach debris.
