Mending and Darning Clinic in the Downtown Eastside

July 21, 2012 by CACV Admin

Okay, so what does this have to do with art, you might well ask.

Our lives are the greatest piece of art we can produce.  She declares.  Well, you can disagree, but please do it as a comment to this post.

This is a link to a very brief, easy to read article that will make my point.  http://www.treehugger.com/style/darning-clothes-as-an-art-form.html

So, bring your mending, bring your darning – buttons, hems, holes in the socks………………………… .  Darning as an art form; who would have thought, eh?

This workshop is the last of a pilot project.  It will be on Thursday, 26 July 2012 from 1 to 4 pm.  Location is Carnegie Communith Center, Basement Art Studio.  Host, Haisla Collins always has a smiling and warm welcome, and the coffee pot on.

Actually, this blog is kind of cheating, because I couldn’t come up with a subject (Help! Help! out there – send in your comments and suggestions – Please! Please!) so used this post which appears in another blog.

Ta ta,

Karenza
