The Community Arts Council of Vancouver is pleased to invite you to an open studio with our Fieldhouse artist-in-residence, Jessica Gnyp.

Saturday, November 29th
Time: 1 PM – 4 PM
Location:
 McBride Park Fieldhouse
2049 Waterloo Street, Vancouver, BC V6R 1N6
(inside McBride Park, off West 4th Avenue)

During her three-month residency at the McBride Fieldhouse artist Jessica Gnyp has created a site-specific sculptural installation inspired by the façade of this former park caretaker’s residence. Gnyp’s recent work is informed by research conducted at the Vancouver Archives tracing the fieldhouse’s original layout, as well as other photographic documentation of this building completed in 1953.

Jessica Gnyp received an MFA from the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory at the University of British Columbia a BFA in photography from Emily Carr University and a BA in anthropology from the University of Victoria. Gnyp currently lives and works in Vancouver.

Looking forward to seeing you!
