Dalannah Gail Bowen

Dalannah Gail Bowen 

Dalannah has been on the Community Arts Council board and started the Downtown Eastside Centre for the Arts.

Dalannah Gail Bowen is a community activist, blues/jazz/gospel singer, published poet and playwright. Dalannah has survived homelessness and drug addiction.

Dalannah presented  “A Healing Journey Through Art: From Homelessness To Purpose” at the Community Arts Dialogue in November, 2011.
Dalannah shared her story of recovery by re-connecting with her art, and her creation of the Downtown Eastside Centre For The Arts. Dalannah’s presentation addressed the nature of art, art’s potential as a healing tool and Dalannah’s goals for the downtown eastide community.
