On December 21st, CACV once again teamed up with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and the Secret Lantern Society to bring our Community Cube to the Winter Solstice Lantern Festival. As soon as the doors opened, we were flooded with eager participants.
Staff members Chris Gilpin and Kelty McKerracher were on hand to facilitate the activity, but were amazed at how participants intuitively grasped the concept immediately. Folks would enter our activity space and jump right into it, cutting out their own designs and adding them to the lantern.

By the end of the night, over a hundred designs had been added to the lantern by the community and over a thousand (probably a lot more than that) had viewed the lantern. It was a wonderful way to bring light to the darkest day of the year.
