Richka was a multidisciplinary theatre/dance work focused on rituals and customs in the larger context of history and cultural identity informed by Ukrainian dance and folklore. By melding cross-cultural and contemporary movement, and bringing professional artists to work closely with community members, the project will open the doors of the historic Ukrainian Hall and its cultural practice to the wider community. Richka provided an opportunity for diverse participants to develop new skills and for the Association of United Ukranian Canadians to develop its unique artistic voice.
