Thank you to everyone who applied! The call is now closed, and the review process has begun.
In partnership with Helm Studios, CACV is back with our second series of in-person professional development workshops for emerging and systemically marginalized musicians in Vancouver.
This program provides free training from experts across the music industry to 12 participants from equity-denied groups. Across 6 weeks of workshops, participants will learn a variety of skills that will help advance their careers. Past topics have included songwriting, production, mixing & mastering, marketing, social media, and more! Exact speakers and topics will be announced in the coming weeks.
Session dates (6:30 – 8 PM each week):
- May 28
- June 4
- June 11
- June 18
- June 25
- July 2
In an effort to create a cohort environment and to support artists, an honorarium of $300 will be provided to all successful applicants who attend a minimum of 4/6 sessions (except in the case of extenuating circumstances).
Future Sounds supports artists who identify as marginalized, including those with disabilities, low-income artists, BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, and other underrepresented voices. This project aims to reduce barriers and expand opportunities within BC’s music community.
Supported by Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia.
