Mary-Anne McAllister

She/her/hers | Head of Programs & Operations

Mary-Anne McAllister is a creative and cultural producer from South Africa with over 8 years’ experience working in the arts sector. She now lives and works on the unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, also known as Vancouver. Her work is focussed on building collaborative networks to help cultivate a space of growth and opportunity for young creatives. Her practice includes creative producing, fine arts and curatorial work. She has an Honours Degree in Fine Art from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She has worked on many national and international collaborative community driven projects, programmes, and art exhibitions. She had also shown her own work as an exhibiting artist in South Africa. Her most recent collaborative work was as the co-producer of POWER TALKS Durban (2022) - supported by the Goethe Institut, curated and co-hosted by African Centre for Cities, and produced by Contemporary Archive Project, across three cities in South Africa.
