March Update

March 18, 2020 by Patrycja Kamska

Dear Friends,

In response to public health recommendations, we closed our office to the public effective March 16, 2020 and will be working remotely. Please be aware that ongoing programs and public events, scheduled for the near future, are likely to be affected. For ongoing programs, CACV is exploring options to move our programming online.

We are monitoring developments and reassessing our responses as public health agencies update their recommendations. Information about our response efforts and program modifications will be provided through our newsletter, website, and social media platforms. In addition, CACV is considering ways we can help artists, and other citizens, during this unprecedented situation.

We will be using our online platforms to connect people to  organizations, projects, and individuals who are responding with creative offerings and opportunities. We believe community arts has an important role to play in community resilience and we are looking towards contributing to efforts to effectively engage citizens.

As we navigate COVID-19 together, our hearts go out to the first responders, doctors, nurses, workers, artists and businesses facing losses, as well as our communities most vulnerable citizens. Now is the time to demonstrate increased compassion, creativity and possibility.

On behalf of the CACV team, we look forward to hearing the stories of triumph, kindness, generosity and caring that our community will share when this uniquely challenging time is past.

Sincerely,
Eric Rhys Miller, Executive Director
