Music for Everyone
Community Arts Council of Vancouver supports the mission of “Music for Everyone”.
City Opera Vancouver is a member of CACV and we have in the past hired the organization to conduct new and innovative productions in the downtown eastside and elsewhere. These projects exposed new audiences to chamber opera.
City Opera Vancouver is a new and exciting opera company that produces chamber opera and is presently commissioning its first opera which will be announced soon. City Opera Vancouver will be one of three companies resident at the 650-seat Pantages Theatre, once is is fully restored.
City Opera held a fundraiser in October for the first sing-along Carmina Burana. Company Director Dr. Charles Barber has also held Bach and Opera talks at the Carnegie Community Centre where 60-80 people attended each session. Dr. Barber was also involved in the consultation for the Downtown Eastside Community Opera “Condemned”.
