Community Development
In 2006, the Downtown Eastside Community Land Use principles Project focused on ensuring that the housing and land use pressures the community is facing benefit the predominantly low income residents.
The Community Arts Council of Vancouver supports community development in the downtown eastside because of our commitment to support arts-based community development. Our interests include ensuring it remains an affordable home for the community’s many artists.
We support a comprehensive, community-based approach in the Downtown Eastside and promote demonstration projects that model housing and community revitalization as part of the planning process.
