Write for our website and e-newsletters

Can you take a lot of information and write something succint, clear and even cheerful?  Volunteers are needed to take information (such as an artist’s resume or a program schedule) and turn it into a short (250 words or so) post for the web or e-newsletter.

Volunteer Opportunity: Artist-Recorder

Record conversations artistically.

Next opportunity: Saturday, March 16 12noon – 4:30pm

Your role will be to listen into small group discussions and record their dialogue on a flip chart page – going beyond words and lists to capture the feeling as well as the content using symbols, pictures and colour.

There will be one or two discussions of 20-40 minutes each.

We’ll provide paper and felt pens. If you have special drawing materials you’d like to use – bring them along.

There will be a volunteer meeting 12-12:30pm to go over the plan for the day.

An orientation for all new volunteers will be held in advance.

Carry Our Snake in the Chinatown Parade

We want to have a large contingent in this year’s Spring Festival parade in Chinatown.

Can you help to carry the snake lantern? Or the yet-to-be-realized snake sculpture by Alastair Heseltine and community members? Have ideas about how to make sounds like a snake?

Send a note to volunteer@cacv.ca if you’re available from 10am to 3pm on February 17.
