Board Vacancies

The CACV Board is seeking two additional board members as follows:

ENVIRONMENTAL ARTS PORTFOLIO

DESCRIPTION:
The Board of Directors is seeking an additional board member to fill the role of Environmental Arts representative. Being seen as a leader in this emerging art field is one of three program priorities for 2010.

If appointed, the individual will be able to stand for election at our Annual General Meeting in November, 2010.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare for, attend and follow-up on decisions at monthly board meetings.
Represent CACV at Environmental Art activities; seek grants; monitor and report on projects to funders (with support from Administrator).
Time required is approximately 10-15 hours per month.

QUALIFICATIONS
Background (education, experience) in a field such as environmental education or sustainable community development.
Passion for the potential of community arts in building knowledge, awareness and inspiring action.
Aware of and connected with environmental groups in the City of Vancouver.
Prefer experience in serving on a board or community-based committee.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS – EXECUTIVE MEMBER

DESCRIPTION:
The Board of Directors is seeking an additional board member to fill a recent vacancy on our board executive. You would be joining a highly experienced and committed board where your skills and energy would be put to good use. We have renewed our mission, vision and values over the past year and have committed to three program priorities (all available at cacv.ca – see below for current board members’ bios.)
If appointed, it is expected that the individual will stand for election as a board officer at our Annual General Meeting in November, 2010.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend executive meetings and contribute to planning board meeting agendas, support president and secretary in facilitating board meetings and contribute to executive follow-up tasks.
Prepare for, attend and follow-up on decisions at monthly board meetings.
Contribute leadership as part of the executive on membership development and fundraising initiatives.
Time required is approximately 12-18 hours per month.

QUALIFICATIONS
Previous governance and executive role in non-profit or arts and culture organization
Passion for community cultural development.
Demonstrated experience in leading and working with diversity.
